Let's Switch Gears, Shall We?
I think I have now mentally and emotionally moved on from the half marathon. The day of was pretty emotional for me, which I didn't expect. I guess it's just the anticipation of everything and all the work, for it to be over and done with and you met your goal, everything is finally free to come out. It's depleting in a way, but super rewarding at the same time.
I took four days off after the race. Since then, I have been aiming to run 25-35 miles a week. I am still doing long runs on Sunday, and I'm alternating 7-8 miles and 10 miles every week to try to keep up my distance endurance. I am not too focused on speed work right now, though I have been making an effort to keep my easy pace about 30 seconds faster than it was during training. I feel like that gives me an extra little challenge.
I don't know when my next race will be just yet. I wouldn't say I am aiming to be a competitive runner for a living, but I certainly enjoyed it enough to do it again. Running itself is something I feel like I will always do for leisure and for exercise.
With that being said, I've been trying to decide what direction I want to take with this blog. I am thinking it will turn into more of a lifestyle blog. That would allow me to incorporate more of who I am, including my faith.
That may require a little "re-branding." Maybe even a name change? Either way, I'll start posting more about my faith in Jesus and how it pertains to experiences in my life. That could include running, work, marriage, etc.
If that's something that might interest you, then hang on for the ride! And Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a post.
